Terms of Service

By accessing or using SignalByte Tech News (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" includes the organization.

Minimum age: You must be at least 16 years old to use the Site. If you are 16 or 17, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Site and to provide personal data such as an email address for newsletter subscription. The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

If any part of these Terms is not enforceable under applicable law, the remaining sections remain in effect. Headings are for convenience only and do not change interpretation.

If you want to quote our content, you may do so in a fair and reasonable way with proper attribution and a link to the relevant page, provided your use complies with applicable copyright law and does not imply endorsement. Any rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. Technology news changes quickly, and some content may become outdated. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content, including product specifications, pricing, availability, or security status of third-party products.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SignalByte Media Ltd and its directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or content.

To the extent any liability is not excluded by law, our maximum aggregate liability for direct damages will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the Site in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or €100 (one hundred euros), whichever is lower.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SignalByte Media Ltd and its directors, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your access to or use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity; or (d) your unlawful conduct.

We may, at our expense, assume exclusive control and defense of any matter subject to indemnification by you. In that case, you agree to cooperate with our defense and not to settle the matter without our prior written consent.

The Site may include links to third-party websites, tools, or resources, including vendor sites, app stores, standards bodies, research repositories, or event pages. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

SignalByte Media Ltd does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, or privacy practices. Your use of third-party sites is subject to their own terms and policies. You should review them before sharing personal data or making purchases.

Our Privacy page explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, the legal bases for processing, retention periods, and your rights. The Privacy page is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

The Site provides a cookie preference banner that lets you accept or reject cookies used for analytics. Your selection is stored in localStorage in your browser. If you clear localStorage, you may be asked to choose again. Some cookies and similar technologies may be strictly necessary for site functionality and security.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in each email. You can also request deletion of your subscription information as described on the Privacy page.

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to the Dispute Resolution section below and any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply to you, the courts of London, England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site.

If you have a dispute with us related to the Site, you agree to contact us first and attempt to resolve it informally for at least 30 days before filing a court claim, unless doing so is prohibited by applicable law or an urgent remedy is required.

To start informal resolution, email a clear description of the issue to [email protected] and include any relevant URLs and dates. We will respond within a reasonable time and may request additional details to understand the issue.

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days, either party may initiate legal proceedings consistent with the Governing Law section.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, attempted to compromise the Site, or used the Site in a way that could expose SignalByte Media Ltd to liability.

You may stop using the Site at any time. If you are subscribed to the newsletter, you can unsubscribe via the link in any newsletter email. If you request deletion of data, we will handle it as described on the Privacy page, subject to legal obligations and legitimate retention needs such as security logs.

The following sections survive termination: Intellectual Property, Prohibited Activities, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law, Dispute Resolution, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, legal requirements, or operational practices. Changes become effective 14 days after we post the updated Terms on this page, unless a change is required by law to take effect sooner.

Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of an updated version constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Site and, if applicable, unsubscribe from the newsletter.
